Shoucheng is always genuine to share his universe of knowledge and new discoveries with enthusiasm. His talent to explain the most complex scientific principles in most approachable layman term is second to none. His charm is his unyielding love of all subjects of humanities - philosophy, history, opera - which he takes pleasure to share and debate at the intimate dinner tables we gather around for holidays and special occasions. We all know that Shoucheng loves the beauty and simplicity of poetry above all. Therefore, it is only fitting for me to say my well-wishes to my dear friend Shoucheng in the haunting words of Keats.
Ode to a Nightingale
BY JOHN KEATS
My heart aches, and a drowsy numbness pains
Adieu! adieu! thy plaintive anthem fades
Past the near meadows, over the still stream,
Up the hill-side; and now 'tis buried deep
In the next valley-glades:
Was it a vision, or a waking dream?
Fled is that music:—Do I wake or sleep?
